History of The Potters' Club
The British Pottery Manufacturer's Federation Club, or Potters' Club as it's usually referred to, was founded in 1951 to provide facilities for the directors of local pottery companies to entertain their visitors and guests, many from around the world, including royalty and VIP's.
Over time the Club has extended its membership to professional people from all walks of business.
The Club remains a members' club but one which always welcomes new members. If you would like to join, please click the Join button at the top of the page and complete the online form.
Modern Ceramics in Stoke-on-Trent
As well as individuals, companies and organisations are also very welcome to join The Potters' Club. Our members consist of the most famous brands in the world including Dudson, Steelite International, Portmeirion, Waterford Wedgwood Royal Doulton, Moorcroft, Churchill and Johnson Tiles.
At the heart of The Potters' Club is the food. Dining in unique, comfortable surroundings is what brings members back time and time again. There is nothing like it anywhere in the area.
While menus retain a traditional, classic, and British style - there is a modern twist that gives a contemporary feel to all the dishes served here.
Menus are constantly appraised to ensure standards remain high, using fresh produce and, where possible, locally sourced ingredients. All types of dietary requirements can be catered for.
Our team is headed by Stuart Darby who along with his team both Front of House and Kitchen Brigade support our Board of Directors to build on our excellent reputation for fine dining and top quality hospitality.
There are huge benefits in belonging to a private members' club. As well as a private space to relax and unwind, belonging to a private club gives you a great opportunity to entertain and impress clients. When you need to wine and dine someone special, instead of wondering where to book, you can simply bring your guests to the club where they will be made to feel special and very welcome.
Membership also brings many other benefits too such as use of conference and private dining rooms, free parking whilst using the club, corporate membership, enabling you to use the facilities and enrol your staff, as well as an opportunity to network with all the important business and professional people in the area.
As well as a restaurant and cocktail bar there are three further rooms that may be used for dining, meetings, small conferences or just relaxing in. They can all help in making a successful event, and be it your menu, room layout or special occasion, can be individually tailored to suit your requirements.
The Johnson Room is for smaller gatherings of up to 18 people while the Potters' Room can seat up to 54 people dining or 90 theatre style. A larger space is offered in the Lounge which can accommodate 80 people.
There is ample car parking space, WiFi and equipment is available upon request. We have two lifts that access the club, one of which is direct to the club reception for the ground floor. Accessible washroom facilities are available within the club.
